PointClickCare
No published price at all — enterprise contracts only, and third-party estimates put implementation alone at $5,000 or more. A 10-bed home on CareOS pays $150 a month, with its med-cart laptop included in the one-time fee.
Compare · eMAR for small homes
If you run a small residential-care or assisted-living home and you’re weighing eMAR options — or deciding whether to leave paper — this is the side-by-side we publish: the features, what each option actually costs a small home, and where your records live. Every claim here already appears on our pricing page; sources are noted under each section.
The clinical basics are table stakes — every serious platform has them, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Where CareOS pulls away is everything around the software: what it costs, what hardware comes with it, and where your records live.

Checked against each vendor’s public site and major marketplace listings, October 2026. “Partial” means the claim covers only part of the product — the med pass or a mobile app, not the full platform. “—” means the vendor doesn’t publish it. MatrixCare pricing details come from third-party analyst reports; MatrixCare publishes no rates of its own. CareOS is the only column with a check in every row.
Here’s what the alternatives actually cost a small home — and what comes with the price. CareOS was built for homes like yours, and our prices are on this page, not behind a sales call.
No published price at all — enterprise contracts only, and third-party estimates put implementation alone at $5,000 or more. A 10-bed home on CareOS pays $150 a month, with its med-cart laptop included in the one-time fee.
A $300 monthly minimum per care setting, plus implementation. Every CareOS home under 20 residents pays less per month than that minimum alone — a 6-bed home pays $90 a month.
Pricing “available upon request,” aimed at larger senior-living portfolios. CareOS publishes its rates and starts with the smallest homes — a 2-bed home pays $30 a month.
The same $15 per resident we charge — so the difference is what comes with it: CareOS includes the med-cart laptop, installs it in your building, and keeps your records on your own hardware instead of a vendor’s cloud.
$8–$15 per resident sounds flexible — until the $300 monthly minimum lands. At a 10-bed home, that minimum alone is twice the home’s entire CareOS bill. We have no minimum: an empty bed costs nothing.
The same $15 per resident we charge — so compare what surrounds the rate. Our one-time fee puts the laptop and the backup NAS in your building, and every device is installed and supported by us, free.
Competitor details from the vendors’ public sites and major software marketplace listings, October 2026. Where a vendor doesn’t publish a price, we’ve said so rather than guess.
Most small homes come to CareOS from one of two places: a paper MAR binder, or a cloud eMAR built for much larger facilities. Here is what changing actually involves — the same facts we publish on our pricing and audit pages.

Every CareOS deployment starts with the med-cart laptop and facility NAS we install in your building.
Start with the free paper-MAR workflow audit: 60–90 minutes on-site, one full med pass observed, and a written risk-ranked report — free, no pitch. If you move forward, the one-time technology fee covers configuration, data setup, and staff training, and the included touchscreen laptop arrives set up and ready to chart on. During the alpha, staff verify every medication, order, and charting entry against the facility’s official paper MAR while the transition settles.
What changes is where the system lives: CareOS installs in your building, on the included med-cart laptop and facility NAS, and your records stay on your own hardware instead of a vendor’s cloud. Installation, configuration, and data setup are covered by the one-time technology fee, and every device we supply is installed and supported free. There is no monthly minimum and no per-seat charge — and you can export your records at any time, so leaving stays as un-dramatic as joining.
Tell us about your facility and we’ll walk you through it.
